Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins who is also known as Antonietta Gonzales-Collins within the United States as well as Mexico, is a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is currently working as a sportscaster at ESPN, working as anchor for SportsCenter news and hosting SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual by her age of nine. It is this skill that allowed her to get her first role as an Univision producer assistant Miami. She was a producer for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next assignment was reporter for sports at the CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. Reporting on stories on drug trafficking and immigration on both sides the Texas-Mexico border, she was reporter for news on the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 at 5pm, then as a reporter for news on English for 9 pm, after which she became a news anchor until 10pm before returning on channel Spanish channel. She was also frequently asked to serve as a sports or weather anchor. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She was a reporter for events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason and the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted on the regional Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. The show was commissioned as a anchor for sports by Despierta America Deportes for their morning program. They eventually relocated from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She has an elder sister. In 1992, the family moved to Miami after relocating from Mexico in the US. Then, shortly afterward the family split up, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. She stayed in Canton Ohio with her older sister over the summer and was offered the opportunity of a job. Antonietta still a senior at high school and had a clear idea of the path she wanted to pursue. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice to her needs, Antonietta went to visit the campus. The campus was stunning and offered the degree she wanted. When she finished high school, she made the decision to enroll at the university to pursue a degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor and the manager of WRMU, of which she's a part. They formed a strong connection. Mark's passion for journalism and confidence in herself instilled confidence in her. She in turn, tried to meet his expectations and never disappoint him.
